Steve Coogan: The Man Who Thinks He's It

Actor and comedian
Steve Coogan is most notable for his role as
Alan Partridge in various BBC sitcoms such as
Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge and
I'm Alan Partridge. The character was first introduced on Chris Morris'
The Day Today: a mock news & current events programme, which aired first as a radio broadcast in the early 90s. Alan was featured as the show's sports presenter, in which he would say awkward or offensive things in every situation. (This act continued and was fleshed out in his
I'm Alan Partridge series, rendering the classic "Alan" personality.)
Coogan's other signature characters include Paul and Pauline Calf, Tony Ferrino, Gareth Cheeseman and Tommy Saxondale. Besides comedy and character impersonations, Steve has starred in critical favourites such as
24 Hour Party People,
Coffee & Cigarettes,
Happy Endings,
Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story and
Hot Fuzz. In 2005, he was also voted as one of the greatest top 20 comedy acts by fellow comedians and comedy insiders. He is currently in production for
Alan Partridge: The Movie and writing series 2 of
Saxondale. He will also be appearing alongside
Seinfeld creator Larry David in an episode of HBO's
Curb Your Enthusiasm in its upcoming season.
